Africarise is now boldly expanding its global footprint, introducing an exceptional lineup of South African and pan-African designers to the Asian fashion market. For the past seven years, the brand has established itself as a significant presence in the high-end retail sector at Sandton City Mall, located in Johannesburg, South Africa.

The Shanghai showcase will feature an illustrious roster of resident brands, including Thula Sindi, Africa Your Time Is Now, Ephymol, Fundudzi, Imprint, HobNob, Chale (Ghana), Sipho Mbuto, Mille Collines, Matte Nolim, Black Degree (eSwatini), MORS, Fikile Sokhulu, Naked Ape and Ditsala.

Fashion designer and Africarise founder Thula Sindi said, “African fashion represents the future of global fashion.” With diplomatic and economic relations between South Africa and China growing stronger every day, bringing our craftsmanship directly to this market is a strategic next step. Following our participation in the China-Africa Economic Expo in 2025, it became clear that Chinese consumers have a profound appetite for unique, contemporary African design. This cultural and commercial exchange allows us to move beyond traditional B2B channels and establish a direct, personal B2C connection with discerning fashion shoppers.”

The showcase promises to bridge contemporary African design with Shanghai’s elite fashion vanguard, marking a historic moment for African fashion.

“True commercial exchange is a two-way street. While global fashion and luxury goods have always enjoyed a home in Africa, our native craftsmanship and design point of view is ready to inspire global markets,” Sindi said.
