Mbabane – The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation has issued an urgent notice to Emaswati living, working, studying, or travelling in South Africa, warning them to be wary of individuals or groups falsely presenting themselves as representatives capable of resolving challenges they may be facing in the country.
The notice, issued on Monday 16 June 2026, comes against the backdrop of growing concerns about the safety and welfare of Swazi nationals in South Africa. The Ministry said the government remains committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of Emaswati abroad, and urged citizens to deal only with official diplomatic channels.
Emaswati in South Africa are encouraged to maintain regular contact with the Kingdom’s diplomatic missions and to seek assistance whenever they encounter challenges requiring consular support. The High Commission in Pretoria and the Consulate in Johannesburg are available to assist with emergencies, documentation, welfare concerns, and other consular matters.
Those requiring assistance can contact the following officials directly:
High Commission of the Kingdom of Eswatini in Pretoria:
Nombuso Dlamini on +27 60 336 1519 or Sonnyboy Sangweni on +27 61 528 1154.
Consulate of the Kingdom of Eswatini in Johannesburg:
Portia Dlamini on +27 67 549 0578 or Sihle Mlangeni on +27 63 199 5828.
The Ministry urged Emaswati to save the contact details of the mission nearest to them and to promptly report any matter requiring the attention of the Kingdom’s diplomatic representatives.
