Washington DC – Babukisi Foundation Founder and Executive Director Thobejane Magagula is representing Eswatini in the United States as a participant in the prestigious International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP) on “Freedom 250: Cultural Heritage Preservation and Celebration.”
The U.S. Embassy in Eswatini announced the news, saying it was proud to celebrate Magagula’s selection for the programme.
Through his work with the Babukisi Foundation, Magagula has demonstrated exceptional leadership in preserving and celebrating Swati cultural heritage, making him an important contributor to Eswatini’s nation building efforts and a valued partner in international cultural exchange, the Embassy said. 
Together with fellow cultural leaders from around the world, Magagula is visiting several U.S. cities to engage with American experts, institutions and heritage professionals.
He will see examples of how communities and organisations across the United States take American history, stories and heritage and shape tourism, places and events, from the Wild West to Bourbon Street, the Liberty Bell to fireworks and patriotic songs on the Fourth of July.
Throughout the programme, he will also have the opportunity to share insights about Eswatini and explore new opportunities for collaboration between the two countries.
“We wish Thobejane every success while he embarks on this exciting professional exchange. We look forward to hearing about his experiences, the knowledge gained, and the new partnerships formed when he returns home to Eswatini,” the Embassy said.
