WINDHOEK, Namibia – The Namibia Oil and Gas Conference has renewed its partnership with the Namibia Youth Energy Forum to give young people a stronger voice and clearer pathways into the country’s emerging energy industry.
The collaboration will anchor the Future Generations Session and Local Content Masterclasses at NOGC 2026, which runs from 18 to 20 August in Windhoek under the theme “From Decision to Dividend: Making Namibia’s Oil Work for Namibians.”
Organisers say the programmes are designed to equip students, graduates and young professionals with education, technical training, mentorship and industry exposure so they can participate meaningfully in Namibia’s oil and gas sector. 
The Future Generations Session will bring together young professionals, students, industry leaders, educators and policymakers to discuss skills development, innovation, entrepreneurship and career pathways across the oil and gas value chain and related industries. It will also look at the future of work in energy, the role of STEM education, and the importance of technical training and mentorship.
Economic Association of Namibia chief executive officer Cons Karamata said developing local capacity must remain central as Namibia advances its oil and gas industry.
“As Namibia continues to advance its oil and gas industry, developing local talent must remain a key priority. The Future Generations Session and the Local Content Masterclasses are designed to bridge the gap between education and industry by connecting young Namibians with the knowledge, training and mentorship needed to succeed in the energy sector. Through these initiatives, we aim to support the growth of future professionals, entrepreneurs and leaders who will help shape Namibia’s energy future and ensure that the benefits of the sector extend to generations to come,” he said.
Namibia Youth Energy Forum director Andreas Paulus said the renewed partnership strengthens efforts to connect young people with real opportunities in the energy space.
“The continued partnership with the Namibia Oil and Gas Conference enables the Namibia Youth Energy Forum to create and expand opportunities for young Namibians to engage with the conversations, developments and opportunities shaping the country’s energy landscape. Through this collaboration, NYEF is able to bring youth perspectives into industry discussions while creating platforms that encourage dialogue between young people, industry stakeholders and decision-makers. We believe that meaningful youth participation is essential in ensuring that Namibia’s energy future is shaped inclusively and that young Namibians are positioned to contribute to the sector’s growth,” he said.
NOGC is hosted by the Economic Association of Namibia in partnership with the Namibia Investment Promotion and Development Board and the Hanns Seidel Foundation, with NAMCOR, Rhino Resources and SNC Incorporated as strategic partners. The conference is recognised as one of Namibia’s key platforms for energy dialogue, investment promotion, knowledge sharing and collaboration.
