Ezulwini – The fifth Eswatini Institutional Investors Forum will be held from 27 to 28 August 2026 at Happy Valley in Ezulwini, bringing together pension funds, insurers, asset managers, regulators, policymakers and other financial sector stakeholders.
The forum is being convened by MNCapital Group under the theme, “Mobilising Institutional Capital for Sustainable Growth and Regional Impact.” MNCapital Group has organised investment gatherings involving asset owners, policymakers and financial sector leaders across Africa for more than a decade.
The event will take place shortly before the annual Umhlanga Reed Dance ceremony, which is scheduled for 31 August 2026. Organisers say the timing will give delegates an opportunity to attend the forum while also experiencing one of Eswatini’s most significant cultural events.
Forum targets long term growth
The organisers say Africa is entering a major period of economic change, driven by rapid urbanisation, population growth, technological development and regional trade initiatives such as the African Continental Free Trade Area.
They say the continent will require substantial long term investment in infrastructure, energy, digital systems, innovation, regional trade routes and other development projects. Institutional investors, including pension funds, insurance companies, sovereign wealth funds, development finance institutions and asset managers, are viewed as important sources of funding for these sectors.
The forum will examine how such investors can support economic development while achieving sustainable, risk adjusted returns for their beneficiaries and clients.
It will also create space for discussions between government officials, regulators, investment professionals and private sector representatives on how to build conditions that attract capital and support measurable economic development.
Eswatini investment platform
The Eswatini Institutional Investors Forum has become a platform for discussions on the country’s investment environment and the wider Southern African economy.
This year’s meeting will consider ways of using institutional capital to finance infrastructure, support innovation driven growth and strengthen regional economic integration. Delegates are also expected to receive updates on macroeconomic conditions, investment trends, regulatory changes and new financing models affecting Eswatini, Southern Africa and the rest of the continent.
Participants will have opportunities to meet representatives of pension and retirement funds from across Southern Africa, development finance institutions and multinational development banks.
The programme will also include discussions on infrastructure, energy, private markets, digital infrastructure and regional development projects. Investors will be able to engage project sponsors seeking institutional funding, while networking sessions and investor roundtables will provide opportunities to build business partnerships.
Who is expected to attend
The organisers are targeting senior policymakers, regulators, pension funds, insurance companies, securities firms, sovereign wealth funds, development finance institutions, asset managers and fund managers.
Other expected participants include private equity and venture capital firms, hedge funds, real estate and infrastructure funds, actuaries, asset consultants, investment and commercial banks, technology companies, auditors, treasury departments, debt management offices, academics and senior corporate executives.
Fund administrators, trust service providers, chief executive officers, principal officers and professionals responsible for asset allocation are also among those being invited.
