TAIPEI – September 21, 2026 An Eswatini delegation attending the World Alliance for Disaster Management (WADM) has visited the National Fire Agency’s training centre in Taiwan as part of efforts to strengthen the Kingdom’s capacity in disaster preparedness and emergency response.
The visit was aimed at giving the Eswatini delegation a closer understanding of how the Taiwan Fire Agency operates and manages disaster emergencies, both within Taiwan and through international cooperation.
According to the Deputy Prime Minister’s Office, Eswatini is interested in learning from Taiwan’s experience and adapting relevant practices in emergency management and humanitarian assistance. 
During the site visit, the delegation toured the training facilities and observed technologies used in disaster simulation exercises.
The Eswatini representatives also watched live demonstrations of rescue operations, providing practical insight into how emergency teams in Taiwan prepare for and respond to different disaster situations.
The demonstrations covered the use of technology and coordinated rescue approaches designed to improve response during emergencies.
Dr. Huan Chang Hsiao said Taiwan remained open to cooperation and partnerships with WADM member states at different levels.
The visit forms part of Eswatini’s interest in expanding cooperation with the Republic of China (Taiwan) in disaster management and humanitarian assistance.
The Deputy Prime Minister’s Office said potential areas of cooperation include exchange and learning programmes between the two countries, specialised training courses in Taiwan and other initiatives aimed at improving disaster preparedness, emergency management and resilience.
