More than 800 learners gathered at Lobamba National Primary School on Wednesday, 7 May 2025, as Eswatini joined countries around the world to celebrate World Kids’ Athletics Day.
Organised by Athletics Eswatini in partnership with the school, the event featured relay races, jumping and throwing activities, and teamwork games, aligning with this year’s global theme, “Passing the Baton – Connecting Kids Around the World.”
Children aged 4 to 14 took part in the celebration, which focused on encouraging movement, fun, and collaboration among the young participants.
Athletics Eswatini President Zakhele Dlamini attended the event, which began at 11:30 a.m., showing support for youth involvement in athletics and grassroots development.

Teachers, volunteers, and organisers coordinated activity zones and hydration stations, while photo and video moments were captured for sharing through World Athletics platforms, connecting Eswatini’s children to their global peers through sport.
