Durban, South Africa – May 13, 2025: Eswatini marked its presence at the official opening of Africa’s Travel Indaba 2025, with a delegation led by the Acting Minister of Tourism and Environmental Affairs, Honourable Skhumbuzo Dlamini, and Eswatini Tourism Authority (ETA) CEO, Mr. Vusie Dlamini.

Held at the Durban International Convention Centre (ICC), the colourful ceremony brought together top tourism officials including South Africa’s Deputy President, Honourable Paul Mashatile, Tourism Minister Patricia De Lille, KwaZulu-Natal Premier Mr. Thami Ntuli, and South African Tourism CEO Ms. Nombulelo Guliwe. The opening featured music and dance performances from local artists, including the renowned Vusi Mahlasela.

Mashatile and De Lille jointly rang the ceremonial bell, officially opening the trade floor of the Indaba, which is expected to draw over 10,000 delegates from 25 countries during the three-day event running from May 13 to 15.

Representing the Kingdom, Eswatini’s tourism stakeholders are showcasing local experiences, accommodation, and cultural attractions to international buyers and tour operators. Participating establishments include Mantenga Lodge & Restaurant, MTN Bushfire, Malandela’s Lifestyle, Big Game Parks, Eswatini Air, Sibebe Resort, and several others from across the country.

The Indaba is recognised as one of Africa’s largest tourism marketing events, offering an opportunity for destinations like Eswatini to connect with global industry leaders and promote the country’s unique offerings.
