MAMPEMPENI – The construction of a low-level crossing at KaNgaju (Mampempeni) in the Lubombo Region is now 75% complete, with significant progress made on the infrastructure.
The low-level crossing forms part of the Ministry of Public Works and Transport’s initiative to improve rural infrastructure and enhance mobility in remote areas. The crossing aims to provide a reliable connection over a seasonal stream that often causes isolation during the rainy season, preventing access to essential services.
Alongside the crossing, the project includes the regraveling of a 10-kilometer stretch of road between Lubhuku (Magedeni) and the D44 Dvokodweni feeder road. This work is expected to ensure year-round access for both vehicles and pedestrians, improving conditions for local communities, particularly students who need access to Mampempeni Primary School.
