RABAT, Morocco — LaMakhosini Phindile Dlamini, Commissioner General of His Majesty’s Correctional Services (HMCS), has been re-elected as the Regional Vice Chairperson for Southern Africa on the African Correctional Services Association (ACSA) executive committee. The election took place yesterday during the 7th Biennial ACSA Conference held in Rabat.
The conference, which began on May 12 and runs through May 16, gathers correctional leaders from 36 African countries alongside international partners. This year’s theme focuses on “Advancing Technology in the Management of Prison Systems in Africa.”
Dlamini, who served in the same role from 2019 to 2023, is using the platform to explore new technologies like digital inmate management systems and e-governance tools. These innovations aim to improve prison security, streamline operations, and support rehabilitation efforts in Eswatini.
