MATSAPHA – The Deputy Prime Minister, Hon. Thulisile Dladla, officially launched the next phase of Eswatini’s national food assistance programme on Thursday, marking the arrival of more than 2,000 metric tons of rice donated by the Republic of China (Taiwan).
The rice donation will support over 262,000 vulnerable Emaswati across all 59 constituencies, providing much-needed relief amid ongoing food security challenges.

The handover took place at the National Disaster Management Agency (NDMA) warehouse in Matsapha, where the DPM expressed gratitude to Taiwan for its continued support during difficult times. She noted that the donation would help not only to alleviate hunger but also offer hope to those in need.
Taiwan’s Ambassador, H.E. Jeremy Liang, spoke about the strong partnership behind the initiative, describing it as a “quadripartite effort” involving His Majesty’s Government, the Government of Taiwan, World Vision Taiwan, World Vision Eswatini, the NDMA, and local partners.
