MTN Eswatini rolled out the second day of its “21 Days of Y’ello Care” campaign with a focused workshop on Generative AI for teachers, held at the University of Eswatini (UNESWA) AI Academy.
The workshop gathered 100 teachers from across Eswatini, many of them from rural schools, and equipped them with practical skills to integrate AI into classroom teaching. The event formed part of MTN’s broader drive to connect the country to digital technologies that can support both teaching and learning.
MTN’s technology team facilitated the training, introducing educators to AI tools designed to assist in identifying individual learner needs and improving outcomes. Teachers were also trained on how to use AI applications responsibly, with practical sessions on tools, ethical use, and digital safety.
A significant portion of the day was dedicated to cybersecurity and responsible AI use. MTN’s Information Security team conducted sessions warning teachers about the risks of sharing personal or student data with AI platforms. Educators were also taught how to spot phishing scams posing as “free AI tools” and how to assess whether an AI website is safe for use in schools.
The initiative received support from S.C. Zondi Attorneys and Nando’s, who partnered with MTN to make the workshop possible.
