MBABANE – Inmates at the Mbabane Correctional Centre received a donation of toiletries from the Mbabane Church of the Nazarene on Wednesday at Sidvwashini.
The church, led by Reverend Grace Masilela and supported by congregants, handed over items including lotion, roll-on, and toothpaste. The donation, worth E4,540, was raised after the congregation learned of the shortage of hygiene essentials faced by inmates during a prayer service previously attended by His Majesty’s Correctional Services (HMCS).

Receiving the goods were Deputy Commissioner General Bongani Khumalo and Superintendent Nokuthula Maseko, who both expressed appreciation for the church’s support. Khumalo said such partnerships contribute to the wellbeing of inmates and aid HMCS in its rehabilitation programmes.
An inmate who spoke on behalf of others said the contribution brought hope and dignity, adding that faith-based organisations play an important role in their development.
Reverend Masilela used the occasion to share scripture from the book of 1 John 4:7, reminding inmates of God’s love and encouraging them to find strength in faith.
