Johannesburg – Fans of Mzansi Magic’s historical drama Shaka iLembe were treated to surprise appearances by podcaster MacG and entertainer Robot Boi in the latest episode, sparking conversations across social media.
The two celebrities shared their experiences after making their cameos on the show, which tells the story of King Shaka’s rise. Robot Boi, who performed a Zulu monologue, posted behind-the-scenes pictures with the caption, “‘QWAAAAAABE’. Liyabonga iLobot Madoda.”
MacG spoke about his debut acting role on Podcast and Chill, describing the long hours under the blazing sun while dressed in traditional g-strings. He revealed that filming began at 9am and went on until 5pm, adding that the intensity of the experience gave him a deeper appreciation for actors. 
“We shot the whole day. The sun was crazy. We were standing in the sun the whole day,” he said. “The energy was different. It’s a different atmosphere, you feel like you’re back in those days. I felt Zulu by the end of the day. When I got there, I had a fade. It took an hour for them to put faux hair on. That was a hard day of work.”
