EEC to cut power in several areas tomorrow

Mbabane – The Eswatini Electricity Company (EEC) has announced that multiple areas across the country will experience power interruptions tomorrow, Tuesday, 2 September 2025, as part of scheduled maintenance.

According to the utility, the outages will run from 9am to 4pm and will affect communities supplied by depots in Matsapha, Elangeni, Sithobela, Mhlume, Hluti, Big Bend, Piggs Peak, Siteki, Nhlangano and Manzini.

In Matsapha, the interruptions will affect Nhlambeni Water Treatment Plant, Mall Market, Emtelembeni Shopping Complex, Ntokozweni, Ethoneleni and nearby areas. Elangeni’s Malkerns and Mnyamatsini lines, including EEC staff houses and Mvutshini, will also be affected.

Sithobela depot will carry out maintenance and construction works covering Mahlanya, Bethany, Ndinda eMhlosheni, Ngonini, Maguduza Power Station, Damaseko Primary and surrounding communities. Ekukhulumeni, Etjebovu, Horseshoe Farm, Africa Chicks, and both Mabhensane High and Primary schools are also listed.

Other affected areas include Vuvulane, Mananga College, Hurling Hum Estate and James House under the Mhlume depot, as well as Mantambe under Hluti, Mabantanane and Ludlodlweni in Big Bend, and Lubhujini and Maphalaleni in Piggs Peak.

Siteki residents in Mpaka and Malayinini, Nhlangano communities including Salem MTN, Eswatini Mobile, Mehlwabovu, Nanja, Nkwene and Esitandini, as well as Emasini and Sidvokodvo near Manzini, are also scheduled to experience disruptions.

EEC has cautioned the public to treat all electricity structures as live throughout the maintenance period.
