Nelspruit, South Africa – A 34-year-old man was arrested on Sunday morning, 02 November 2025, after being found with 93,6 kilograms of dagga, valued at approximately R600 000.
Members of the Whiteriver Flying Squad Unit spotted a silver Toyota Corolla heading towards Nelspruit along the N4, just before Lows’ Creek turnoff, and stopped the vehicle for a search. Officers discovered 36 packs of loose dagga in plastic bags and one compressed block wrapped in brown tape.
The driver told police he was travelling from Schoemandal to the North West Province. He was arrested on charges of dealing in dagga, and the vehicle was impounded for further investigation. The suspect is scheduled to appear at Barberton Magistrate’s Court on Monday, 03 November 2025. 
Acting Provincial Commissioner of the SAPS in Mpumalanga, Major General Dr Zeph Mkhwanazi, commended the officers for their vigilance and dedication to community safety.
