Mbabane – World Vision has been described as a key partner to the Royal Eswatini Police Service in addressing crimes affecting vulnerable groups, particularly children.
Senior Deputy National Commissioner Melusi Shadrack Simelane said this during a handover ceremony of the Sandleni World Vision structure to the police service, held last Thursday at Sandleni. Simelane attended the event on behalf of the National Commissioner of Police.
He said World Vision has remained one of the police service’s major strategic partners through its support of programmes aimed at tackling the root causes of violence and abuse against children across communities in the Kingdom. 
Simelane expressed appreciation for the donation of the Sandleni structure, noting that it was not the first time World Vision had assisted the Royal Eswatini Police Service with infrastructure for satellite police posts. He said such support plays a crucial role in accelerating the decentralisation of policing services.
According to Simelane, the availability of satellite structures allows for quicker police response times and improved access to policing services, particularly in rural areas. He said the partnership supports the police mandate of serving as a safety and security buffer for the nation through collaboration with stakeholders.
The ceremony was also attended by Minister Sikhumbuzo Dlamini, who handed over the keys to the new structure to the Senior Deputy National Commissioner on behalf of World Vision.
