MATSAPHA — Good Friday turned into a moment of deep reflection and spiritual renewal at Jesus Calls Worship Center in Matsapha, where Apostle Micheal Orokpo delivered a series of stirring sermons that drew hundreds of worshippers from across the country.
The renowned preacher, invited as a guest speaker for the Easter weekend, used the sacred occasion to speak about sacrificial love, eternal purpose, identity in God and the need for righteousness in Eswatini.
Addressing congregants during the Good Friday service, Apostle Orokpo described the day as more than a remembrance of Christ’s suffering. He presented it as the ultimate expression of divine love, teaching that Jesus willingly laid aside His glory and power to become a sacrifice for humanity. 
“Love is not just words. Love is sacrifice,” he told the congregation, urging believers to practice selflessness in their homes, communities and across the nation.
He linked many global and societal challenges to selfishness, saying true greatness is born when people choose to put others first. Revival, he said, must be seen in action through love and sacrifice rather than emotion alone.
The preacher also spoke about confidence in approaching God, explaining that because God gave His very best through Jesus Christ, believers should draw near with boldness instead of fear.
On Saturday, 4 April 2026, Apostle Orokpo continued ministering at the Matsapha based church, delivering another sermon focused on knowing God and understanding His nature. He outlined core biblical truths, describing God as eternal with no beginning or end, the Alpha and Omega, Creator of the universe, sovereign and all powerful.
He taught that God is omniscient and omnipresent, loving and merciful, yet also a consuming fire. He described God as unchanging, self existent and independent. Referencing Christian doctrine, he explained the concept of the Trinity as Father, Son and Holy Spirit, and spoke of God’s transcendence beyond human limitation.
Using various Bible verses, he urged emaSwati to rise and take responsibility for transforming the country through righteousness and faith. He said many Christians struggle with doubt because they do not fully grasp how powerful God is.
“We are passing through earth, but earth is not our destination,” he taught during one of the sessions, encouraging believers to live with eternity in mind and to prepare for a spiritual reality beyond physical life.
A major theme throughout his messages was identity. Apostle Orokpo taught that humanity was created in the image and likeness of God and entrusted with authority to govern the earth. Understanding God, he said, is key to understanding oneself.
The services concluded with an altar call inviting worshippers to recommit their lives to God. Almost the entire auditorium responded, stepping forward in what many described as a powerful moment of surrender and renewal.
General Overseer Bishop Kasaro thanked the visiting preacher and announced that Apostle Orokpo is expected to return next year, saying the church community could not get enough of his teachings.
