Mbabane police have opened an investigation into an attempted murder after a 29-year-old kombi driver was shot at in Mnyokane on 2 April 2026, around 4:20 pm. The driver escaped unharmed.
Police reported that three unknown men, armed with a firearm, targeted the kombi while it was in the area. The gunmen then robbed a 43-year-old woman boarding the vehicle, taking items valued at E3,400. Authorities have also launched an armed robbery investigation in connection with the incident.
The Royal Eswatini Police Service urged Emaswati to report illegal firearms and suspicious activity, warning that guns are often used in violent crimes. Residents are encouraged to contact the nearest police station with information.
