SWAKOPMUND, Namibia – Zambia emerged as the overall champion at the 2026 Southern Africa Inter-Revenue Administration Games (SAIRAG), held over the Easter weekend in Swakopmund, Namibia. The Zambia Revenue Authority (ZRA) represented the country at the two-day event on 4 and 5 April.
Seven countries competed at the games, including Namibia, Lesotho, Eswatini, Botswana, South Africa, Angola, and Zambia. The Zambian team was also named the Most Cheerful team for their spirited participation.

ZRA took part in all sports disciplines at the tournament. The closing ceremony saw Namibia Revenue Authority (NamRA) Commissioner, Sam Shivute, call on athletes from revenue authorities to apply the same winning mentality to sustained tax collection across the region.

Eswatini Revenue Services (ERS) received the button to host SAIRAG 2027 during the closing event.
The Zambian football team secured the title after a commanding 3-0 win over NamRA in the final. Zambia controlled the match from start to finish, maintaining a solid defence while executing clinical attacks. Despite strong support from local fans, Namibia could not break through Zambia’s organised backline.
Captain and goalkeeper Peter Chileshe credited teamwork and preparation for the victory, while also acknowledging Namibia for a competitive match and praising the overall spirit of the tournament.

NamRA coach Gebhard Mvula described the loss as disappointing but noted that this edition of SAIRAG was one of the toughest yet. Namibia played five matches, winning four before falling to Zambia in the final. Mvula said he was proud of his team’s resilience and performance across all sporting events during the games.
