Addis Ababa – The Kingdom of Lesotho formally raised its national flag at the African Union headquarters this week, marking its tenure as a Member of the AU Peace and Security Council.

The ceremony was attended by AU officials and delegates from across the continent, reflecting Lesotho’s commitment to advancing peace, security, and stability in Africa. The moment symbolised both national pride and the country’s dedication to African-led solutions for the continent’s challenges.

H.E. Ambassador Ntsiuoa Sekete, leading the occasion, said, “Lesotho’s presence in the Peace and Security Council is not only a national honour but a continental duty anchored in dialogue, prevention, and inclusive peacebuilding.”
