Cape Town – The Botswana Tourism Organisation has kicked off its participation at World Travel Market Africa 2026 in Cape Town, with a delegation of 18 local tourism operators, while also holding strategic talks with China Ready to explore opportunities in the Chinese tourism and investment market.
On the sidelines of the event, the BTO delegation, led by Board Member Olivia Adams, met with China Ready Chief Executive Marcus Lee to discuss potential collaboration aimed at positioning Botswana as a destination of choice for both tourism and investment. The Chinese market has been identified by BTO as a key emerging source market with significant growth potential.
Day one of the event was marked by business-to-business engagements with international buyers, travel trade partners and industry stakeholders, all focused on advancing Botswana’s destination marketing agenda, promoting the country’s tourism offerings and unlocking investment opportunities across the tourism value chain.
The platform gave local operators a chance to showcase their products, build strategic partnerships and gain access to key source markets, as Botswana works to cement its reputation as a premium and sustainable tourism destination.
BTO is exhibiting at stand F03 at WTM Africa 2026.
