Harare – Zimbabwe’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Trade, Professor Amon Murwira, on Monday received an outgoing courtesy call from the departing Japan International Cooperation Agency Zimbabwe Resident Representative, Shigeki Furuta, at the Munhumutapa Offices in Harare.
Furuta, who is wrapping up a three-year tenure in Zimbabwe, reflected warmly on his time in the country, describing Zimbabwe as a “wonderful country” and pointing to significant growth in relations between Zimbabwe and Japan during his posting, particularly through high-level engagements and platforms such as Expo 2025 Osaka.
The outgoing representative spoke about JICA’s contributions across key sectors including agriculture, health, infrastructure and education, and expressed hope that cooperation between the two countries would continue to grow.
Professor Murwira commended Furuta for his role in strengthening bilateral ties between Zimbabwe and Japan and for advancing development cooperation during his tenure, wishing him well in his future endeavours.
