Harare – The Kingdom of Lesotho has formally installed its new ambassador to Zimbabwe, with His Excellency Ntsime Jafeta presenting his Letters of Credence to Zimbabwean President Emerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa at a ceremony held at the State House in Harare on 28 May 2026.
The ceremony accredited Jafeta as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Lesotho to the Republic of Zimbabwe.
Diplomatic ties between the two countries stretch back to before Zimbabwe’s independence, and the two nations have since maintained cooperation at both bilateral and multilateral levels, including within the Southern African Development Community, the African Union and the United Nations.
In his remarks following the presentation of credentials, Ambassador Jafeta called for stronger economic cooperation between Lesotho and Zimbabwe, building on the foundation already in place.
He also welcomed Zimbabwe’s approval of the establishment of a Joint Permanent Commission on Cooperation, describing it as an important legal framework that will help identify areas of collaboration and address matters of mutual interest between the two countries.
