Mbabane – A high-level delegation from Lesotho is in Eswatini this week on a learning visit focused on the Kingdom’s approach to advancing universal water service coverage, hosted jointly by the Ministry of Natural Resources and Energy and World Vision Eswatini.
The delegation, which entered Eswatini through the Ngwenya/Oshoek Border Post, comprises World Vision Lesotho National Director James Chifwelu, senior World Vision leadership, and senior government officials from Lesotho’s Ministry of Natural Resources, led by Deputy Principal Secretary Lisema Lekhooana. The visit runs until Friday, 6 June 2026.

The programme began with an entry meeting at World Vision Eswatini’s Golf Course offices in Mbabane, where the WASH team shared insights on how Eswatini is progressing toward universal water service coverage through its partnership with the Ministry of Natural Resources and Energy. The delegation then visited the Department of Water Affairs at the ministry, where discussions covered water access funding, regulation and implementation lessons.
Over the remaining days of the visit, the delegation will engage with various government ministries, tour World Vision-supported water project sites, and witness community-level impact, including attending the commissioning of a water project at Bulekeni.

Lesotho’s Minister for Natural Resources, Honourable Mohlomi Moleko, is expected to join the delegation on Wednesday.
The visit is centred on learning from the innovative partnership between World Vision Eswatini and the Ministry of Natural Resources and Energy, which is contributing to progress toward Sustainable Development Goal 6, the global commitment to ensuring availability and sustainable management of water and sanitation for all by 2030.
Both sides said the exchange is not one-directional. Eswatini counterparts are equally expected to draw lessons from innovations and experiences in Lesotho as part of the bilateral learning process.
