Mbabane – The Eswatini Royal Police Service (REPS) has arrested several individuals on rape charges.
Four male suspects were arrested and charged under the Sexual Offences and Domestic Violence (SODV) Act of 2018 in separate incidents, police say.
On June 12, 2026, a 28-year-old man of Tsambokhulu was arrested by Lomahasha for raping a 22-year-old woman of Lomahasha while inside a house in the Tsambokhulu area.
Another instance occurred on the same day, at 0900 hours, when Manzini police arrested and charged a 34-year-old Lwandle man. He was charged with raping a 14-year-old juvenile from Gundvwini. Police claimed the event occurred inside a vehicle in the Sidzakeni area.
A third matter involves a 49-year-old man of Sihlutse who was arrested and charged for sexually violating a 15-year-old girl of Maphalaleni on June 12, 2026. The survivor was forced to have sexual intercourse in a forest while she was collecting firewood in the Maphalaleni area, leading to her arrest the following day.
Lastly, police say on June 13, 2026, at about 1200 hours, Sidvokodvo police arrested and charged a 38-year-old man of Sigcineni for raping a 19-year-old woman of Sigcineni.
“On June 7, 2026, the victim was forced into sexual intercourse twice in a forest while at the Sigcineni area. All suspects are scheduled to appear before court today,” a statement says.
