Mbabane – The Ministry of Information, Communications and Technology and MTN Eswatini on Wednesday unveiled three new digital solutions designed to reshape healthcare access, agriculture, and the creative economy in the Kingdom.
ICT Minister Savannah Maziya joined MTN Eswatini Acting CEO Jerry Soko at the launch of TruMD eSwatini, MTN Umelusi Animal Tracking, and ContentHub eSwatini, three platforms the partners say will give emaSwati practical tools to deal with everyday challenges while opening new income streams.
TruMD eSwatini allows citizens to consult qualified doctors at any hour of the day, every day of the week, regardless of where they are. MTN Umelusi Animal Tracking targets the agricultural sector, giving farmers a way to monitor and protect their livestock, cut down on stock theft, and make more informed farming decisions through technology. ContentHub eSwatini is aimed at the country’s creative economy, offering young people and content creators a platform to monetise their work.
Speaking at the launch, Minister Maziya said the day was about widening access for ordinary citizens.
“Today is about opening opportunities for emaSwati through digital solutions that address real challenges in healthcare, agriculture, and the creative economy,” she said.
She said TruMD would change how people access medical care.
“Through TruMD, citizens can now consult qualified doctors 24 hours a day, seven days a week, from wherever they are.”
Turning to the Umelusi tracking solution, the Minister pointed to the centrality of livestock in Swati life and economy.
“Livestock is wealth in Eswatini. This solution gives farmers the ability to track and protect their livestock, improve security, reduce stock theft, and make better farming decisions using technology.”
On ContentHub, she said government sees the platform as a vehicle for job creation among the youth.
“We see content monetisation as a major job creator, economic driver, and opportunity for young people and creatives.”
MTN Eswatini Acting CEO Jerry Soko said the three launches reflect the telecom’s broader purpose in the country.
“At MTN, we believe that everyone deserves the benefits of a modern connected life. Our purpose extends beyond connectivity, we harness technology to solve real problems facing our communities and contribute meaningfully to Eswatini’s development.”
He said the solutions speak directly to issues affecting ordinary Swati households and businesses.
“These three solutions demonstrate how technology can improve lives, create opportunities, and support national priorities.”
On ContentHub specifically, Soko said the platform carries weight beyond its function as a digital tool.
“ContentHub is more than just a digital platform, it is an opportunity to unlock the creative economy of our nation.”
“The future digital economy of Eswatini will not only be built on consuming content, but also on creating and monetizing local content.”
