Sikhupe – His Majesty King Mswati III has departed for Cape Town, South Africa, to attend the 9th Southern African Customs Union Summit, where leaders from across the region will discuss trade, economic integration and development.
The King was accompanied by Inkhosikati LaGija and was accorded a warm send-off at King Mswati III International Airport by members of the Royal Family, Cabinet ministers, security forces, regiments and members of the public.
The summit brings together heads of state and government from Eswatini, South Africa, Botswana, Lesotho and Namibia to chart a course for deeper regional cooperation and shared economic prosperity.
Regional trade, economic growth and the future of Southern Africa’s oldest customs union are among the key issues on the agenda.
