Mbabane – The Deputy Prime Minister (DPM) Thulisile Dladla is planned to receive 1 004 school shoes valued at $210 000 and sewing machines for the vulnerable Emaswati from Taiwan’s Happy Home World Alliance organisation as the countries strengthening diplomatic relations.
Dladla, speaking at her offices in Mbabane, said these donations will come from the Republic of China’s (Taiwan) various cities. There are 35 sewing machines, laptops, 1,369 clothing items and a container donated to be used in the shipping of the donated goods to Eswatini besides the school shoes.
“We have a class for persons with disabilities in Ntondozi who will benefit,” she said, adding that this goes to restore dignity, hope, and opportunity for citizens. 
These will be shared evenly with beneficiaries in need.
Dladla also discussed Taiwan’s plans to expand Eswatini’s education and the benefits of its Study Cat software for children to improve their skills. The Ministry of Education and Training will use approximately 1,500 items to support children.
Taiwan said this donation still goes to the celebrations of His Majesty King Mswati III’s Ruby Jubilee, celebrating the king’s 40 years on the throne and his 58th birthday.
The countries’ relations go back 58 years, exactly when Eswatini gained its independence in 1968.
