Mbabane – Fuel prices in Eswatini will increase from Friday, 4 September 2026, following a rise in international crude oil prices and continued pressure on global fuel supplies.
The Ministry of Natural Resources and Energy said the new prices will take effect at midnight on Thursday, 3 September.
Unleaded Petrol 95 will increase by E1.30 per litre, from E24.67 to E25.97. 
Diesel 0.005% S will rise by E1.35 per litre, from E27.50 to E28.85, while illuminating paraffin will also increase by E1.35, moving from E20.38 to E21.73 per litre.
The ministry said international crude oil prices averaged US$89 per barrel in August, up from US$87 per barrel in July.
It attributed the increase to supply pressures in international markets, including shipping risks in the Strait of Hormuz amid the Middle East conflict. The extended Russian diesel export ban, following damage to refining infrastructure caused by Ukrainian drone strikes on refining facilities in early July, also contributed to tighter global supply.
Despite the increase in oil prices, the Lilangeni recorded a slight appreciation against the US Dollar. The exchange rate averaged E16.11 to the Dollar in August, compared with E16.46 in July.
The ministry said the combination of international oil prices and exchange rate movements had resulted in the latest adjustment.
The new fuel prices are:
• Unleaded Petrol 95: E25.97 per litre
• Diesel 0.005% S: E28.85 per litre
• Illuminating Paraffin: E21.73 per litre
The Ministry of Natural Resources and Energy has urged motorists, businesses and households to use fuel efficiently as international oil markets and the Lilangeni to US Dollar exchange rate remain volatile.
