Taipei – Mbabane Municipality has received the 2026 System Integration Export Award at the Smart City Summit & Expo in Taiwan, marking a major milestone for the city on the global stage.

The System Integration Export Award is presented annually at the Smart City Summit & Expo, co-organized by the Taipei Computer Association (TCA) and the System Integration Promotion Alliance (SIPA), with support from Taiwan’s Ministry of Economic Affairs.

The 2026 award recognises the export of a “turnkey” smart city solution, a fully integrated system of hardware and software, from Taiwan to an international market. For Mbabane, it validates the Smart City project as a global example of how technologies like 5G, AI-driven surveillance, and digital governance can address local urban challenges.

The recognition highlights Mbabane Municipality not just as a technology consumer but as a pioneering partner in deploying world-class systems for city management.

Key contributors to this achievement include the Eswatini Government, Ministry of Information, Communications & Technology, Ministry of Housing and Urban Development, Royal Science & Technology Park, Eswatini Post & Telecommunications Corporation, and the Municipal Council of Mbabane.

The Government and people of Taiwan, along with the implementing partner International Integrated Systems, Inc., were acknowledged for their support in realising a “Smart Mbabane” and a “Smart Eswatini.”
