MBABANE – The youth of Eswatini stepped into a new phase of coordinated development following the launch of the National Youth Development Coordination Framework, a document formulated with support from the European Union in Eswatini.
The launch event, held in Mbabane, brought together Government officials, youth representatives and development partners to witness the unveiling of the framework, which is designed to streamline youth programmes across institutions and sectors.
The comprehensive document includes a stakeholder database, a coordination framework, mechanisms for coordinating the Inter Ministerial Committee, the establishment of a Youth Development Consortium, as well as a monitoring and evaluation plan and an operational plan. 
Minister of Sports, Culture and Youth Affairs Bongani Nzima delivered remarks at the event, while Prime Minister Russell Mmiso Dlamini gave the keynote address.
The European Union reaffirmed its support for youth empowerment and inclusive development, describing young people as central to socio economic progress in the Kingdom.
EU Ambassador to Eswatini Karsten Mecklenburg said, “The framework marks a significant step in our shared journey, hence I would like to send appreciation to all implementing organisations that have seen the need for such a coordination framework. This shows the understanding that no single organisation can solve the issues affecting the youth in Eswatini,” he said.
The Prime Minister expressed gratitude to the European Union for backing the programme and for its continued support towards youth initiatives in the country.
The launch signals renewed collaboration between Government and its development partners, aimed at improving coordination, strengthening partnerships and expanding sustainable opportunities for young people across Eswatini.
