Housing minister meets realtors over new property bill

Mbabane – Housing and Urban Development Minister Appolo Maphalala met with leaders of the Eswatini Realtors Association on Friday to discuss the Real Estate Bill, which is currently before government for deliberation.

The meeting brought together Association Chairperson Musa Nhleko, Assistant Secretary Refiloe Gama and Treasurer Crystal Hillary, who used the engagement to table their concerns and recommendations on the proposed legislation, particularly around areas they feel need further clarity.

Maphalala praised the Association for its organised structure and the manner in which it has engaged with the Ministry, reaffirming that government remains committed to keeping its doors open to stakeholder consultation and collaboration throughout the legislative process.

The minister also told those present that the Sectional Titles Act is now fully operational, urging property owners and players in the real estate sector to make use of the framework and submit their applications accordingly.
