Maseru – The second Lesotho Energy Access Dialogue, known as LEAD 2026, opened today, bringing together policymakers, financiers, innovators and researchers from Lesotho and Europe to confront energy access challenges and unlock the full potential of the Kingdom’s renewable energy market.
Running over two days, the event is being held under the theme “From Commitments to Action” and forms part of the RenewableLesotho initiative, a TeamEurope project backed by the European Union in Lesotho, Germany and local partners.
The dialogue is organised by the Department of Energy Lesotho, the NUL Energy Research Centre and GET.invest Lesotho, with support from the sister programme GET.transform.
The programme includes interactive sessions with industry experts, an exhibition showcasing renewable energy technology and speed-matchmaking sessions designed to connect projects with investment opportunities. Participation is free of charge.
For Eswatini, where energy access and the transition to renewables remain pressing national priorities, the dialogue offers a useful regional reference point as the Kingdom works to expand its own clean energy agenda.
Live sessions from the event can be watched on the NUL Research and Innovations page.
