A 19 year old man from Sitsatsaweni has been remanded in custody after appearing before court in connection with the alleged rape of an 11 year old girl from the same area.
The suspect appeared before court on Friday, 14 August 2026, after being arrested and charged by Siteki police.
He was remanded until 21 August 2026 while investigations and further legal proceedings continue. 
The case was reported to the police on 5 August by the girl’s mother.
According to the Royal Eswatini Police Service, the suspect, who is related to the minor as her brother, allegedly took her into a house at Sitsatsaweni, played a movie for her and later raped her.
Police said the suspect was arrested on 13 August at about 3pm after investigations into the complaint.
The matter remains before court.
