Windhoek – The African Tax Administration Forum (ATAF) has joined international experts in assessing the performance of the Namibia Revenue Agency (NamRA), as part of efforts to strengthen tax administration in the country.
The assessment was conducted from August 19 to September 2, 2026, with ATAF working alongside experts from the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ).
The exercise used the Tax Administration Diagnostic Assessment Tool (TADAT), an internationally recognised framework designed to assess tax administration systems and identify areas that require improvement. 
The assessment examined Namibia’s tax administration practices against international standards, with particular attention given to strengthening efficiency, effectiveness and services provided to taxpayers.
ATAF expert Dr Moses Chamisa represented the organisation during the assessment, contributing experience and technical knowledge gained through ATAF’s work with tax administrations across Africa.
