MBABANE – European Union officials and German development partners met local government and private sector representatives on Monday to push ahead with plans to equip Eswatini’s youth with market-relevant technical and vocational skills.
The session, hosted in Mbabane, was part of the ongoing “Skills for Youth Employability, Entrepreneurship and Empowerment” programme — a €14 million initiative funded by the EU and implemented in collaboration with the German Cooperation Agency (GIZ).
Senior representatives from Eswatini’s key ministries, parastatals and Business Eswatini were in attendance as the partners reviewed immediate actions for rolling out the programme. The initiative is already underway, with a focus on boosting the employability of young people through technical and vocational education and training (TVET) aligned to labour market needs.
