Mbabane – The University of Eswatini has appointed Mr. Bonginkosi Max Mkhonza as its new Registrar, effective from 1 December 2025.
A proud alumnus of UNESWA, Mr. Mkhonza returns to the institution with extensive leadership experience across public and private sectors. He has held executive positions in several industries, building a track record in corporate governance, institutional strategy, human capital management, and organisational transformation.
Mr. Mkhonza is expected to drive strategic renewal, systems reform, and the development of a performance culture, strengthening the university’s governance and administrative efficiency during a period of transformation. 
“It is a privilege and a profound responsibility to return to the University that shaped my professional journey. The challenges are deep and complex, but with collaboration among Council, Management, Staff, Students, and the support of the Government of the Kingdom of Eswatini, we can rebuild UNESWA into a modern, efficient, and trusted national institution,” Mr. Mkhonza said.
The university community has been invited to welcome Mr. Mkhonza as he assumes his new role.
