Lubombo – Police in the Lubombo Region are investigating an arson incident at Sitsatsaweni and are searching for unknown suspect or suspects after property valued at E73,000 was destroyed by fire.
The Royal Eswatini Police Service reported that the incident was discovered on the morning of December 21, 2025, at about 08:00. A 34 year old man from Sitsatsaweni found that his consultation room known locally as indumba, traditional herbs and several household items had been deliberately set alight. The cause of the attack is still unclear and no arrests have been made as investigations continue.
In a separate arson matter reported in the Shiselweni Region, a 37 year old man from Ngoni is expected to appear before court on December 23, 2025, following his arrest over a fire that destroyed property worth E79,500. 
According to police information, the incident followed a domestic dispute on December 20 at around 09:00. The suspect allegedly argued with one of his sisters, insulted her and ordered her to leave the family home and get married. Fearing for her safety, the woman contacted police officers who responded to the report. The suspect had already left the homestead and later refused to cooperate when contacted by officers.
Later that same day at about 17:00, the suspect reportedly returned home carrying matches and set fire to his sisters’ bedrooms and their belongings. Police later traced and arrested him at his girlfriend’s residence in the Madvubeni area.
The Royal Eswatini Police Service has reiterated its appeal to the public to refrain from resolving disputes through violence, particularly in family conflicts, warning that such actions continue to fuel crime and instability within communities.
