Mbabane – Prime Minister Russell Mmiso Dlamini has officially appointed and commissioned the SADC University of Transformation Board, tasked with overseeing the establishment and development of the new institution.
The Board will be chaired by Dr Simanga Alex Tsela, with Professor Innocent Msibi serving as Vice-Chairperson. Other members include Dr Rejoice Maseko, Zandile Dlamini, Mboni Dlamini, Victor Langa, and Welile Kunene.
The Board’s responsibilities include building a national ecosystem to support the university, developing infrastructure, systems, and processes to make the institution operational, and mobilising resources. 
Prime Minister Dlamini told the Board that they have been entrusted with bringing His Majesty the King’s vision to life. He called on members to maintain self-respect and respect for authority while executing their mandate with agility and innovation.
“Ensure this becomes the best university in Southern Africa – one that is recognised and endorsed by leading institutions globally. Begin developing the curriculum immediately so that ESHEC can initiate the accreditation process as soon as possible,” the Prime Minister said.
He also instructed the Board to prioritise STEM disciplines and strengthen links between academia and industry.
Dr Tsela said the Board is ready to deliver on its mandate, describing the university as a national asset. “We have the capability and competence to deliver on this mandate. We recognise this as a national asset and will galvanise patriotism to ensure its success.”
