Mbabane – Honourable Prince Lonkhokhela, Minister of Natural Resources and Energy, convened a strategic meeting with an international delegation to explore investment opportunities in Eswatini’s energy sector. The engagement followed the introduction of the delegation by His Excellency Sifiso Mlandvo Dlamini.

The visiting team, representing MBH Power, presented proposals centred on electricity generation, including possible development of power projects using liquefied natural gas and the rollout of smart metering systems aimed at improving efficiency and service delivery in the country’s electricity network.

Key national stakeholders attended the meeting, among them officials from the Eswatini Energy Regulatory Authority, the Eswatini Electricity Company, and the Ministry of Natural Resources and Energy. The discussions focused on how the proposed investments could support the country’s power supply and infrastructure development.

Prince Lonkhokhela welcomed the interest from the delegation, noting government’s ongoing efforts to strengthen energy security, improve system efficiency and attract strategic investment into the sector. He directed technical teams within the ministry and its agencies to engage further with the delegation to assess the proposals and map out a structured way forward.
