MANZINI – A 42-year-old South African man from Fernie is set to appear before Manzini Magistrate’s Court today, April 8, 2026, facing charges under the Explosives Act.
Bhunya police arrested the suspect on April 7 around 4 PM during a routine search in the Mpuluzi area. Officers found him in possession of explosives, including a blasting cartridge, capped fuse, and detonating cord, without a valid licence or permit.
Preliminary investigations suggest the man may have links to zama-zama syndicates involved in illegal mining operations in Eswatini.
