Mbabane – The Honourable Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Senator Shakantu, opened a two-day workshop for Members of Parliament today, aimed at reviewing international legal instruments tabled before the House of Assembly and Senate.
The session is designed to educate lawmakers on the key provisions of 22 treaties under consideration for ratification or accession. Discussions during the workshop will provide guidance ahead of a joint sitting of both Chambers of Parliament, expected to be held later in line with Section 238 of the Constitution.
Senator Shakantu told participants that understanding the treaties is essential for ensuring informed decisions on Eswatini’s obligations under international law.
