Lobamba – The Eswatini National Trust Commission (ENTC) is hosting a validation workshop on the Capacity and Resource Needs Assessment and Capacity Development Plan for implementing the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework (GBF). The event is being held at the King Sobhuza II Memorial Park Auditorium in Lobamba and gathers national stakeholders to strengthen Eswatini’s biodiversity conservation efforts.
Speaking on behalf of ENTC CEO, Chief Finance Officer Mduduzi Ndzinisa thanked partners and stakeholders for their dedication to protecting the country’s biodiversity. He noted that the Kunming-Montreal GBF provides a global roadmap to halt and reverse biodiversity loss by 2030. Ndzinisa added that turning these global ambitions into action in Eswatini requires strong institutions, skilled professionals, coordinated stakeholder engagement, and sustainable financing.
The workshop aims to identify and reinforce national capacity priorities for GBF implementation, enhance stakeholder involvement and ownership, strengthen the roadmap for resource mobilization, and validate the capacity and resource needs assessment and development plan.
