Mbabane – Eswatini’s National Psychiatric Referral Hospital has been awarded a Certificate of Recognition for Service of the Year in the SME Mental Healthcare Service category at the 2026 SADC Quality Awards.
Minister of Health Mduduzi Matsebula visited the facility on Wednesday to personally congratulate the management and staff for the achievement.
“It is important that we celebrate all achievements. To compete against the private sector and be recognised for your effort is big, especially in the health sector. As the Minister, on behalf of the Ministry, we thank the National Psychiatric Referral Hospital for its contribution towards positive health outcomes. Mental is one of the critical areas of healthcare service delivery in this country, and for the job you do, we need to celebrate you,” said Minister Matsebula. 
The regional recognition adds to a growing list of accolades for the facility. At the recently held Kingdom of Eswatini Quality Awards, the hospital scooped the Eswatini Services of the Year award in the MSME category and also received two additional certificates of recognition from other categories.
The Ministry of Health said it was “extremely proud” of the hospital for maintaining the high quality standards that earned it recognition across the SADC region.
