Mbabane – Eswatini Television has produced a documentary marking 40 years of His Majesty King Mswati III’s reign, celebrating four decades of the monarchy alongside the broadcaster’s own journey of serving the nation, with CEO Mlamuli Dlamini leading the tribute to the milestone.
The documentary features reflections from former and current staff members, including Oscar Mabusela, who worked at Eswatini TV from 1979 to 2014, and speaks to the broadcaster’s role as a public institution tasked with informing, educating and reflecting the lives of emaSwati.
The production touches on the broadcaster’s evolution from analogue to digital transmission, bringing clearer signal and better picture and sound quality to homes across the Kingdom, including in rural areas.
The documentary frames Eswatini TV as more than just a broadcaster, positioning it as a national institution that has carried the stories of communities, covered major events and given a platform to the voices of women, youth and ordinary emaSwati over the decades.
