Maguga – The second day of a Corporate Governance Workshop for NGO Directors held at Maguga pushed deeper into globally aligned governance priorities, covering sustainability, digital transformation, artificial intelligence and anti-corruption on Wednesday.
The two-day workshop, convened by CANGO News with support from the European Union in Eswatini, brought together civil society leaders to strengthen governance frameworks across the Kingdom’s nonprofit sector.
Thembinkosi Dlamini opened the day’s proceedings with a session on sustainability and Environmental, Social and Governance principles, positioning NGOs within the global sustainability agenda and presenting ESG as a critical driver of long-term institutional legitimacy, funding attractiveness and societal impact. 
Directors then moved from learning to execution during a group work and presentations session, where they developed and presented governance frameworks reflecting strategic foresight, accountability and operational excellence.
Bhekani Dlamini followed with a session on digital and AI governance, unpacking how NGOs must adapt to the digital era by addressing data governance, ethical artificial intelligence use, cybersecurity awareness and digital accountability.
The day closed with another session by Thembinkosi Dlamini on compliance and anti-corruption, reinforcing that integrity is the cornerstone of sustainable institutions and placing compliance, transparency and anti-corruption at the heart of governance excellence.
