Lobamba – His Majesty King Mswati III wished the mothers in Eswatini a good Mother’s Day. He was speaking during the SMVA Ingwenyama Cup final at Somhlolo National Stadium on Sunday.

“It is with great joy that we all gathered here at the stadium for this important event where we celebrate a blend of culture and sports. It is also Mother’s Day,” His Majesty said.

The king made his remarks during halftime. He first observed protocol, greeting the Indlovukazi and the fans at the stadium. He also said he hopes each fan brought their mothers to the stadium.

“I hope we all brought our mothers here to celebrate them. Today we celebrate mothers because they have raised us. We are saying Happy Mother’s Day,” His Majesty said.

The king said it marked a special day where the Sincephetelo Motor Vehicle Accident Fund (SMVAF) Ingwenyama Cup infused culture and sports.

His Majesty said the world will get to see how EmaSwati proudly embraces traditions and culture.

“This day will show what we mean when we talk of loving culture. The performers have performed, showing their talents,” he said. His Majesty also stated that sports play a crucial role in shaping skills and talents.

The country celebrated His Majesty’s 40 years on the throne and his 58th birthday, and the newly commissioned Ezulwini Palazzo ICC is currently hosting the Organisation of African, Caribbean and Pacific States (OACPS) and the European Union joint parliamentary delegation. The delegates represent 77 OACPS and 27 EU member states.
