Maputo – The Royal Eswatini Police Service joined its counterparts in Mozambique on Sunday to celebrate Mozambique’s National Police Day, marking 51 years of policing and reaffirming a shared commitment to peace and security across Southern Africa.
The celebrations were held at Mozambique’s Police Recruit Training School in Matalana and were officiated by Minister of Interior Paulo Chachine, Inspector General Joaquim Adriano Sive, Deputy Inspector General Aquilasse Kapagula Manda, and senior government and police officials.

The Eswatini delegation was led by National Commissioner of Police Manoma Vusie Masango, accompanied by Deputy National Commissioner Mumcy Dlamini, Assistant Commissioner Lisbon Mabuza, Superintendent Mfanasibili Mkhwanazi, Superintendent Vusi Dlamini, Sergeant Tsepo Ngwenya, and Constable Sizwe Maziya.

The programme opened with the planting of fruit trees, a symbolic gesture of growth and lasting partnership between the two countries. The delegation then viewed exhibitions showcasing Mozambique’s policing heritage, professionalism, and cultural identity, including displays of operational experience and policing skills developed over five decades.

In a gesture of recognition for cross-border partnership, National Commissioner Masango presented appreciation certificates to Mozambican police officers for excellence across various fields, a moment that reflected the unity and shared resolve between the two services.
