New Delhi – India and the African Union have agreed to postpone the Fourth India-Africa Forum Summit (IAFS IV), which had been scheduled to take place in New Delhi from 28 to 31 May 2026.

The decision followed consultations between the Government of India, the Chairperson of the African Union and the African Union Commission, with both sides agreeing that it would be advisable to hold the summit at a later date.

The postponement comes amid an evolving public health situation in parts of Africa. Both sides exchanged views on the matter and reaffirmed the importance of continued cooperation in strengthening public health preparedness and response capacities across the continent, including through support to Africa CDC and relevant national institutions.
